Your article is well-written, and absolutely on-point. Our narcissist-in-chief has no understanding of, or appreciation for, the past, not having read or learned about it.

Trump’s misuse of language — spoken and written — reflect both a lazy mind and the growing impulses of a tyrant. He speaks roughly , and couches his communications in terms suggesting he is willing to fight anyone who is a threat to America. The problem, of course, is that his definition of “threat to America” is really self-referential. Moreover, as is the case with any schoolyard bully, what would cause him to show his true nature is if someone suddenly stood up to him and gave him a stout punch in the nose. Then, the cowardly nature of Trump would surely manifest itself.
An honest appraisal of his linguistic failings shows that he is clearly unable to adapt his choice of words to the requirements of his office. What may be a “bargaining style,” e.g., “win-lose,” appropriate (in his mind) to the New York real estate market, is wholly inadequate to negotiations in today’s “win-win” world. The consequences of Trump’s dismissive demeanor in dealing with peoples and countries with whom he disagrees are an escalation of tensions, and the increasing danger of armed conflict in volatile regions.
Let us hope that greater, and more powerful, minds than his will soon remove him from office and from the public eye. We need unity, not discord.
