Well done, Lauren, as usual. Pelosi is part of the geriatric kindergarteners, generally, and part of the "limousine liberal" set of California politicians (e.g., Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer), in particular, who did not age well in their so-called "service" to their constituents.
Had it not been for Pelosi's animosity to decent healthcare, we may very well be much closer to a single-payer, universal healthcare system in the U.S.
Had it not been for Pelosi's refusal to "go big" and attack Trump on his many provable crimes in office, we might very well have seen Trump convicted by the U.S. Senate and forced from office.
Had it not been for Pelosi's disdain for doing the right thing, our education, military, and environmental budgets would have looked radically different. But her diffidence in facing her corporate donor-overlords is clearly the dispositive factor in her House leadership position.
In short, Pelosi must go--and we need a string of electoral victories that lead to structural changes, i.e., public financing of all political campaigns; switching the budgets of the Dept. of Defense and the Dept. of Education; enacting Medicare-for-All; creating a National Priorities Board; instituting a conversion from hydrocarbon-based to alternative energy systems; dramatic shifts in food production practices; and a national committment to the Green New Deal.
Those changes would be a fitting denouement to the departure of Pelosi from the House of Representatives....
