With Donald J. Trump’s incompetence as President, tone-deaf reaction to the George Floyd murder and the nationwide protests in its aftermath, and his inability to muster the slightest bit of empathy in the face of our pain, the latest polls show that Trump only has 38% support, the lowest figures since Presidents Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush were at this stage of their administrations. Both of those Presidents lost their bids for reelection, in a massive rejection of their personalities and inability to relate to the people.

It appears that Trump suffers from the same affliction.

Trump’s extreme narcissism is well-documented. Books and articles, pundits and former White House employees have all revealed that Trump is, at heart, a sick, sick man. Even the uber-loyal toadies around him — Senators Lindsay Graham (R-SC) and Mitch McConnell (R-KY)–have from time to time (and with increasing frequency) evidenced their dissatisfaction with his so-called leadership.

Low turnover in an organization indicates that people are satisfied with their circumstances and are not interested in making a change.
