Justice Delayed….
“Justice delayed is justice denied” was originated by the great British Prime Minister William E. Gladstone in a speech on the Irish question in the House of Commons, March 16, 1868.
In the U.S. House of Representatives on October 31, 2019, Congresspeople voted on the procedural rules governing the impeachment process to be used if President Trump is impeached. It wasn’t a vote on articles of impeachment; it was a road map for how impeachment proceedings would be conducted.
The hullabaloo on the part of the Republicans prior to, and during the immediate lead-up to the vote, was indicative of two congenital problems with the Republicans:
- They can’t fight fair, so they fight foul; and
- Because they know that on the substance Trump (and, by extension, Republicans) will lose, so they delay as much as possible.
The Mueller Report was poorly sold by Robert Mueller. Additionally, Twitter, Facebook, Faux News, and the other parts of the Republican Ministry of Propaganda all promoted Trump’s talismanic phrase: “No collusion! No obstruction!” Everything on the production line of the Republican Falsehoods Factory is based on distorting facts; in that way, we can’t reason together, which requires that we have an agreed-upon set of facts as the foundation of a discussion.
