Mark David Chapman got help for his psychosis and never stalked John Lennon.

In 1971, John moved from London to New York. He and Yoko Ono had all their bed-ins, art works, and music for many years.

John went through his “Lost Weekend,” his 18-month Yoko Ono-instigated affair with May Pang from July 1973 to February 1975. During that time, he consumed vast quantities of alcohol and was also a heroin addict. His partying with Harry Nilsson and his troubles in public led him to some strange mental places.

One of the good things in his affair was that May got John to become close to his first child, Julian. Both he and Julian had good times together and John taught Julian guitar chords after buying him a Gibson Les Paul guitar and a drum machine for Christmas in 1973.

On March 28, 1974, John was involved with Nilsson’s latest creation, Pussy Cats, producing the album in the Burbank Studios. Paul and Linda McCartney dropped by the studio, along with Nilsson, Stevie Wonder, May Pang, Bobby Keys, Jesse Ed Davis, and producer Ed Freeman. They had an impromptu jam session. John was high on cocaine and offered Stevie Wonder a snort of cocaine, a “toot.” The name of their bootleg album was called “A Toot and a Snore in ’74.”
