President Donald J. Trump, the King of the Con, the Lord of Lies, the Monarch of Mendacity

Trump, the chaos-ladder Master Climber, just concluded the 2020 Republican National Convention, held on the South Lawn of the White House, in stark violation of the Hatch Act (which prohibits federal government property from being used for partisan political purposes). Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, while on a government trip to Jerusalem, stood on top of the U.S. Embassy there and gave his heartiest praises to Trump. The RNC was full of people — -many of whom were the children of Dear Leader — -uttering fulsome encomia to Trump. Particularly oleaginous was Vice President Mike Pence’s acceptance speech on Wednesday evening. Even by his sycophantic standards, Pence was unusually unctuous.

In short, there was no lack of grease in the panegyric speeches of those who praised Trump and rewrote the last four years of this country’s history. They conveniently omitted the 185,000 Covid-19 deaths here in America, attributable to Trump’s lack of organization and addiction to chaos. They forgot about the 421 years’ worth of structural racism that has resulted in death after death…
